experiment day 20
'Fake 23 blast, with a backside George reverse!'
'Fake 23 blast, with a backside George reverse!'
I'm a HUGE sucker for sports movies! From Rudy to Cutting Edge, I love the story of the team or athlete that beats all odds, comes from behind, takes a beating, and comes out on top. I love the underdog. Maybe fair to say...I'm an underdog at heart.
I'm grateful for the time I got to relax today and blow off watching 'Remember the Titans.' I'm grateful for my heart, while wildly sensitive at times, gets to feel, be effected, and touched...whether it be by a movie, a news story, or just the old man at the gym busting 70s aerobic moves.
I'm also grateful for the times I played sports, all the way thru college, and watching my big bro play too. Reminds me of easy times.

Don't laugh, but I'm grateful for the fitness DVD that Edyta and Alec from Dancing with the Stars put out. Its the only exercise DVD I've ever been able to have fun doing, and because it was fun, I've stuck with it and lost 40 pounds.

I'm grateful that at my advanced age (creak....), I still feel young in my mind and heart

I'm grateful for my girlfriend, who is taking me on a lovely beach trip this weekend for my birthday. I'm grateful for birthdays--now when someone has one, I say 'Congratulations,' instead of 'happy birthday.'
I'm grateful for for a high of 84 today and SUN! (I'm in Portland, and we usually don't see that till July).
And I'm grateful for art week at school and many lovely free performances by my favorite musicians:

I'm grateful for Denise, our maid, who comes once a week and saves us a lot of time and energy, which is very precious to us especially since Rachel has been on chemo. Denise has become a good friend as well.
I'm grateful my dad is a jack of all trades so he'll be here in a couple days to figure out where the mysterious pond we suddenly have in our laundry room is coming from and he will fix it.For free. Money is tight here and he knows it.
I'm grateful for my friend who put my name out there yesterday with a group of people and volunteered me to help with a project because she thought it might help me get the job of my dreams when I finish my Masters in August... and she might be right. (Now to find the time :))
I'm grateful the crystals on my windows are making rainbows on the ceilings and walls today. I don't remember the movie, but the family member would make rainbows for the sick person, and I thought it was so cool. I think in the movie they used mirrors, but I put crystals up, and on sunny days, when the sun hits just right, sometimes I get rainbows all over, sometimes I just get a rainbow or two. They always make me smile and remember life isn't just black and white, there's always color somewhere.

Grateful for my circle of friends, a group of amazing, supportive women. Today was my turn to help out. I am happy for that!

I'm grateful for having started martial arts 10 years ago, something I can see doing for the rest of my life. I'm doubly grateful for having found a partner who is like minded, and we can support each other.

I'm grateful to have the quiet time to contemplate gratitude and everything I have to be thankful for. At this very moment it happens to be music.

I'm grateful for the days when my 11 year old son remembers to lift the seat, pee, and put the seat back down. Today is not one of those days so I'm even more grateful for the days he does remember. Oh well ... tomorrow is another day.

I am grateful that we live near the beach and can sit in a cheesy restaurant drinking imported Chianti (reds are imported to Japan - don't get to excited) and just enjoy the moment. We had fun just being.. and that, my friends, is the real trick :)

I'm grateful for not having regrets on my past decisions.

I mean, on my decisions from the last couple of months... Otherwise I'd be an arrogant idiot. (I'm grateful I'm still not one).
