experiment

I cut my hair today.
I colored my hair today.
I bought a cheap sweatshirt.
I listened to 'lazy eye' 5 times.
I wrote.
I drove.
I taught class.
I drank tea.

And then I got an idea.

Will you do something with me?

Share with me.

What you're grateful for.

For 30 days.

I don't know why, but I need it. Cuz my head is filling with vomit and Smith's songs.

Even if its just one person.

I'll share something. And you share back. That's it. A word. A story. A picture. A complaint. A song. Your name. Anything.

This isn't some new age Oprah 'A-HA' movement. Or some manifest your dreams deal-e-o. It's just old fashion 'let's be positive' junk.

Let's see where it leads.

Day One.
Today.
April 23. I mean...April 24. 1:39 AM.
I'm grateful for tap dancing.

Elbow and Send.

I am grateful for old friends and Guinness

I am grateful for a decent job, a wonderful family, and activities that make me happy.

I am grateful that, when I need it most, my wife and my son tell me that I am a good human being and are glad to have me around. (in so many words :) )

and that this guy's imagination ROCKS:

I'm grateful for random "how're you doing?" phone calls from friends. Two came yesterday when I really needed 'em.

I am grateful for my son

I am grateful that I have my dream job again, a wife that I adore and who adores me, a dog who still acts like a pup when she is 9, Guinness by the pint, warm sunshine (finally) and that things seem to be falling into place for us.

Day One.
April 24. 4:31 PM.

I am grateful for my family. Now that I live far from home, across the Atlantic, I understand how much I love them.

I'm grateful for the most wonderful parents in the world.

I'm grateful to have a wonderfully supportive and understanding wife in me pursuing a second career.

I'm grateful for how sore I am right now, because it means that I trained hard last night and that I'm getting stronger and healthier by the day.

I'm grateful for my kind caring husband and his willingness to learn to Salsa with me.

i'm unbelievably grateful for my boyfriend, who is about to propose.

I'm grateful for my cats, who remind me to keep it simple. There's nothing like a solid, kitty headbutt to knock the crap out of my head, or a flop on the floor, purring, and belly rubs to keep things in perspective.

(...yes, the boyfriend, friends, and family as well :-)

for having the best mom ever, even if I had to lose her.

Oh Man! I just woke up and had all of this to read. Keep it coming! F*ck! You guys are amazing.

While thinking of what I wanted to put in here (wife, kids, house, job, the $1300 computer in my car being covered by the emissions warranty, not the basic that had just run out, etc), I went to search my email for my TypePad account info, and came across an email I'd sent to my wife linking her to the rock paper scissors bet and your first post. Re-reading it made me LAL (laugh, a lot).

So at this point I'm grateful for the things that make me laugh - thanks Annie.

I'm grateful for my sweet doggie who loves me no matter what and that I have a beautiful day to take her for a walk. :)

Among many other things, I'm grateful that my in-laws are such a likeable group; it's like gaining a 2nd (and fun) family.

I'm grateful that my grandma is having a good day, and that my beloved mutt is enjoying her new bed.

I'm grateful for little boys who hiccup and think it is the most hysterically funny thing that has ever happened to them.

I'm grateful that spring has finally sprung.....

I am grateful for Tribute.

I am grateful that I'm easily amused.

I am grateful for my husband and kids singing happy birthday to me today and not making fun of me for turning 30.
